The Academy of Arts is excited to offer an incredible workshop opportunity for college-aged young people for the College Expo at the Ark Encounter.

Since 1973, The Academy of Arts has been working with young people from all over the country through its drama seminar program. The drama seminar program is a week-long intensive with elementary and high school students where the students perform a full-scale production at the end of one week. While there is not time for a full week, Answers in Genesis is allowing us to do a mini seminar at this year’s college expo!

This information includes how your student can be involved in these upcoming sessions! We hope you will join us for this exciting experience of performing a portion of Kingdom’s Dawn on Saturday afternoon!

ELIGIBILITY:

• Only spaces available for any young people registered for the College Expo.

• Registration closes October 3 at 10PM.

• 30 students (15 guys and 15 girls) will be chosen for participation from the audition videos.

REHEARSAL TIMES:

• All sessions are mandatory for participation and will be held on site at the Ark Encounter.

• Parents are welcome to attend rehearsals.

SESSION SCHEDULE
Session 1: November 6, 12PM – 3PM
Session 2: November 6, 6PM – 9PM
Session 3: November 7, 12PM – 3PM
Session 4: November 7, 6PM – 9PM
Performance: November 8, 3PM
*All participants will be asked to arrive at 1PM prior to performance to begin getting into costumes and makeup

REGISTRATION:

• Use access code AIGCollege to gain registration access.

AUDITIONS:

• Submit audition video by October 3 at 10PM

• Include full body in video as well as say your name and age

• Memorize all lines in scene or use someone off-camera to read other lines.

• Cast list will be released on Friday, October 10th

VIDEO UPLOAD:

• Sign into YouTube (create an account if needed).

• Click the “Upload” button at the top.

• Choose privacy settings: select “Unlisted.”

• Select the video to upload from your computer.

• Edit basic info and settings while the video uploads.

• Click “Done” or “Share,” then copy the video link.

Email the link to conferences@TheAcademyofArts.org with the subject: “AiG College Expo: [Name of Participant].”

You will receive an email to confirm receipt of your video submission.

COSTUME REQUIREMENTS:

• The Academy of Arts provides most costume pieces.

• Students must provide socks, shoes, undershirt, and/or basketball shorts (a list will be provided with the cast list.)
