The Academy of Arts has experienced exponential growth over the past 55 years of ministry and the opportunities to preach the Gospel through the powerful medium of the arts are only growing. With this growth, we’ve seen the clear need for a platform to be established that would allow Christian artists to stay informed, get connected, and become involved in these amazing opportunities. The Academy of Arts Commission is the answer to that need!
The Commission was formed with a two-fold mission: 1) to offer training to those who wish to become ministers in and through the arts, and 2) to offer opportunities to those who have already received training, to minister in and through the arts around the country and around the world.
Those that are interested may choose from different ministry opportunities that are listed below.
The opportunities are growing by the day and the Commission is your hub to learn about the many ways you can be involved in “making the Bible come alive on stage and in minds and hearts” for a summer, a year, or a life-long career. So if you are a ministry-minded Christian who has always wished to use your skills of acting, singing, dance, technology, building, costume design, construction and so much more for the advancement of the Gospel and the encouragement of fellow believers, then join the Commission today and get involved! The fields are white ready to harvest and we hope you will answer the call to go and teach all men of Jesus in this unique and powerful way!

Cast and crew for this track are selected by auditions.
*Specific dates will be selected according to the needs of each venue.
A 12-person team will be mounted for each location. 2 leaders, 10 team members. 36 spots in all are available to be filled.
This program is designed to give opportunities to the next generation of Christian communicators to teach and share the truths of God’s Word through one-on-one tours, historical reenactment, and live theatrical performances.
Each team member will be trained as a tour guide and taught valuable historical and spiritual information by professionals in their field. The tours that are given ensure that each group has a deep and impactful experience in the venue of their choice.
Along with the training in leading tours, each team member will receive training and experience in the performing arts through the 30-minute production that they perform daily as a team in their respective locations. This aspect of the program not only gives real life performance experience to each team member, but it also gives valuable people skills, as each team member learns how to interact with audiences both on and off the stage.
Each team member will also be cast as a particular historical or biblical character (living history interpreter) and will be assigned times to interact with visitors at their assigned venue as that character. This aspect of the program is designed to help each living history interpreter make the museum come to life for each guest in a unique and unforgettable way.
Along with all of these aspects of this exciting program, devotional times and life enriching activities will be planned and run by the team leaders with the goal of making this a life changing experience for each team member.

The Drama Seminar program is the heartbeat of our ministry and has been in operation for over 50 years. Our Drama Seminar teams are trained to bring a full-scale production to schools and homeschool groups and produce that production in one week using the young people as cast and crew. Each member of the seminar team will be trained on the many aspects of dramatic production, including but not limited to:
They will be trained how to teach these skills to the campers each week. In this program team members will work with elementary casts, as well as high school casts and sometimes produce two plays in one week on the same stage. Drama seminar team members are called upon to give devotionals to the students in their respective classes, and chapels are held every day with all cast and crew. These exciting drama camp weeks not only help the young people with their skills on stage, but they are deeply impactful evangelistic weeks which are the highlight of the year for many young people across the country. Every team member joining an Academy of Arts seminar team should consider themselves a missionary to America’s youth and prepare themselves for the experience of a lifetime!
Note: While there is no compensation for this track, we encourage those joining to send out missionary support letters. All support will be given to the member it was raised for to support them on their year-long tour. Lodging would be covered by The Academy of Arts and meals are covered at the camps each week.

This program is a new and exciting development for our ministry. While The Logos Theatre has been producing full-scale productions in our home base for over 15 years, touring with these Broadway-scale productions have only been happening for the last several years.
This opportunity is a professional tour where cast and crew perform 5-7 times a week, with 2-3 days off. On days off, the cast and crew are free to enjoy activities together such as, touring the local area, playing various sports, movie nights, game nights, along with devotional times in their individual homes and as a group. All cast and crew members are given call times to prepare for the day’s productions and make sure to be ready for the cast meeting before each show which gives a time of devotion and prayer together as a cast. This amazing opportunity gives cast and crew the experience of touring the country while seeing the powerful impact that excellent, Christ centered art has on the lives of the audiences who come to these productions and the culture at large.

Not every person ‘in theatre’ performs onstage in front of the audience. Most of what is needed in the performing arts are skills that take place behind the scenes. This program is designed to give hands on training and real world experience to individuals who wish to grow in those behind the scenes skills. Skills that are taught in the program include but are not limited to the following: wood working, puppetry, vacuum forming, casting and molding, electoral, lighting design and techs, sound design and techs, microphone techs, sewing, makeup, hair design, 3D design/printing, graphic design, physical/digital scenic design and decor. All these skills are extremely important to have on an artistic team and they are the skills that make what happens on the stage possible. If you’ve felt the call to be involved in a theatrical ministry but feel called more to the behind the scenes work, this program is for you! In this program you will receive training in your field of choice and also have the opportunity to use your skill on one of our performing teams. All of us at The Academy of Arts know the importance of these skills and we can’t wait to get to work with you as we use all our abilities to glorify the Lord in this unique and powerful way!
Acceptance into this program is based on your resume of past experience, and an in person or zoom meeting with the crew manager of the department you wish to join.
Note: There is no fee to be involved in this track; however, because of the amount of specialized training given to participants in this field, lodging and daily expenses should be covered by the participants, unless otherwise arranged by The Logos Theatre leadership.

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Matthew 28:19-20
