ELEMENTARY SUMMER DRAMA CAMP

This delightful children’s musical tells the story of Fallon, a young shepherd boy who would rather be playing games than keeping watch over his flock. But when Fallon’s games take a dishonest turn, he must learn important lessons about the dangers of deceit. Based on Aesop’s Fables, this original Logos Theatre musical reminds us all very profoundly of the need for honesty and staying on the right path!

Camp will be at Morningside Baptist Church (1115 Pelham Road, Greenville, SC 29615)

The audition allows us to put each camper in a role for the production. The audition does not determine whether a camper is in the camp.

Within 2 or 3 days of submitting your registration, you will receive more information about the audition.

High school and elementary students will start each morning together for announcements and will split up from there to rehearse their separate plays.

Students should wear loose, comfortable clothing they can easily rehearse and work in.
  • Please:
    • No clothing with holes or rips.
    • Make sure that shorts or skirts come at least to the middle of the knee.
    • Do not wear leggings as pants.
    • Make sure that clothing is not form-fitting for both guys and girls.
    • Make sure that all shirts are long and necklines high.

Room and board will not be available for this year's drama camps; we do however have recommendations for nearby hotels, including Home 2 Suites (Discount when you use this link.)

High school students should bring a packed lunch for each day, specifically food that doesn't require being heated. High school students will also need to bring a packed dinner on Thursday and Friday for their dress rehearsal and performance night.

Elementary students should bring a snack for each day. A packed lunch will also be needed on Friday for their performance day. Please send your child with food that doesn't require being heated.

Elementary and high school students are encouraged to bring their Bible, script, a notebook, and a pencil or pen. High school students may get a team member's permission to use a phone to communicate with parents during the day, but they will be asked to keep phones put away for the duration of camp. *Students should not bring tablets, earbuds/headphones, weapons, or valuable items that may get lost.

Elementary students will spend the majority of their time on stage rehearsing. When not needed, they will be fit for their costumes and practice lines or song memorization. Elementary students will also have a chapel time each day.

High school students that participate in The Academy of Arts Drama Camps will get time on and off stage. While not everyone can have the same number of lines, we believe in the "use me or lose me" principle. Our teams offer training for high school students in technical theatre, sets/props, costumes, and makeup. When not on stage during rehearsals, students will go to their crews to work as a team on behind the scenes prep, both to get their play ready, and to help the elementary students with prep for theirs as well! At the end of the week following the highschool performance, each student will help with the organization and tear down, completing their work as they started- as a team. Parents are welcome to join in as well for this special time closing out the drama camp week!

Our team will provide the bulk of the costume for each child. A list of costume requirements will be sent with the cast list for each week. Costume requirements are the clothing items worn underneath a costume  (ie. t-shirt, basketball shorts, socks/tights, and shoes).
